Larry E. Coben is a Shareholder at Anapol Weiss and a nationally recognized trial attorney with over four decades of experience in catastrophic injury and product liability litigation. He has secured hundreds of multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements across the U.S., holding major domestic and foreign manufacturers accountable for unsafe products.
Larry earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law. He has built a reputation as a legal pioneer, litigating landmark cases involving vehicle crashworthiness, helmet safety, and defective child products. His work has led to significant industry changes, including legislative action and safety design enhancements.
Larry was the first to file lawsuits against auto and helmet manufacturers for failing to implement critical safety systems. He led early litigation in NFL concussion cases and served on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in the NCAA Concussion and Flint Water litigations. In 2024, he secured a $20.7 million verdict against Honda for a defective motorcycle gas cap.
Larry’s professional accolades include “Lawyer of the Year” for Product Liability in Philadelphia (Best Lawyers®), Top 100 Trial Lawyer (National Trial Lawyers), and repeated recognition by Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America. He has authored over 400 legal articles and multiple authoritative textbooks on trial advocacy and product liability.
Larry E. Coben also contributes to legal reform through amicus curiae briefs submitted to courts across the nation, including the U.S. Supreme Court. He serves as Chief Legal Officer of the Attorneys Information Exchange Group and teaches trial advocacy at the ASU College of Law.
