Kurt A. Rocha is a Partner at Melick & Porter, LLP, based in the firm’s Rhode Island office. His practice focuses on premises liability, personal injury defense, and insurance law. Kurt represents clients across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, offering strategic, results-driven counsel in complex civil litigation and defense matters.
Kurt earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2011, where he excelled in advocacy and trial competitions, including as a finalist in the American Association for Justice regional competition. Kurt also holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Roger Williams University, completing both degrees before entering law practice.
Before joining Melick & Porter, Kurt worked at several respected New England litigation firms and served as a law clerk for the Rhode Island Supreme Court Law Clerk Department. In that role, he assisted on a wide range of civil matters, including dispositive motion work in the Providence County Superior Court, honing his analytical and trial preparation skills early in his career.
