Kimberly Benjamin

Kimberly Benjamin is the founder and managing attorney of the Benjamin Law Firm, LLC, where her practice focuses on criminal defense and DWI defense. A former Missouri Public Defender, she represents clients facing misdemeanor and felony charges, including murder, assault, robbery, rape, child molestation, and impaired driving offenses. With experience in more than 70 jury trials, she provides strategic representation in complex criminal cases while also assisting with trial litigation in select civil matters.

Kim earned two Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Honors Interdisciplinary Studies (Speech Communication and Psychology) from the University of Missouri in 1993. She received her Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School in 1996, where she served as Notes Editor for the Intellectual Property Law Journal. She later completed Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyers College and has since served on its faculty, teaching trial advocacy to attorneys nationwide.

After beginning her legal career as a Missouri Public Defender, she founded the Benjamin Law Firm to build a practice dedicated to criminal and DWI defense. Kim is admitted to practice in Missouri and has served as President of the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. She is a Regent and faculty member of the National College for DUI Defense, chairs the Missouri Bar and MACDL’s Bernard Edelman DWI Law & Science Seminar, and maintains active membership in the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and the Cass County Bar Association.

Kimberly Benjamin helps clients navigate serious criminal charges through trial advocacy and strategic defense. Her professional recognitions include the Atticus Finch Award from the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Missouri Lawyers Weekly Women’s Justice Award for Litigation, and selection as a Super Lawyer. She continues to represent individuals facing complex criminal matters while teaching and mentoring attorneys in criminal and DWI defense.
