About
Kevin E. Brown is a Vermont partner who handles insurance coverage, municipal, land use, personal injury, construction, and appellate matters. He represents clients at trial and appellate levels and also assists injured employees in workers’ compensation proceedings. His practice involves disputes requiring policy analysis, local government knowledge, construction facts, injury evaluation, and courtroom preparation. Clients rely on his guidance when coverage questions or civil conflicts require steady advocacy and focus.
Kevin earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law, where he served on the Law Journal. He earned a B.A., with honors, from St. Lawrence University and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. His education supports appellate writing, policy review, factual analysis, and legal argument. This training helps him assess insurance, municipal, construction, land use, injury, and workers’ compensation issues with practical judgment and client care.
Kevin has briefed and argued many cases before the Vermont Supreme Court, including insurance coverage, municipal, and private right of action issues. He joined the firm in 1990 after clerking for the Honorable Frederic W. Allen, Chief Justice of the Vermont Supreme Court. His work includes trials, appeals, lectures on municipal law and insurance coverage, and representation for injured workers pursuing benefits after workplace injuries through compensation claims and proceedings.
Kevin E. Brown is admitted to state and federal courts in Vermont and the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He belongs to the Vermont and American legal associations and has received Best Lawyers recognition in Insurance Law since 2010. He was also named Vermont’s Lawyer of the Year for Insurance Law in 2021. His service includes zoning board leadership, bar treasurer duties, and ongoing counsel to Habitat for Humanity.
