Kevin A. Lumpkin

Kevin A. Lumpkin is a shareholder and principal of Sheehey Furlong & Behm in Burlington, Vermont. His practice focuses primarily on civil litigation for businesses and individuals, including complex commercial disputes, medical malpractice defense, consumer protection defense, trade secrets and employee mobility litigation, professional regulatory defense, land use litigation, and other contested matters. He is a trial and appellate litigator who practices in state and federal courts and before state agencies and boards.

Kevin earned a B.A. from the University of Vermont and a J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School. Before joining Sheehey, he served as a law clerk for Vermont Superior Courts in Bennington, Addison, and Chittenden Counties. His clerkship experience gave him direct exposure to Vermont trial-court procedure and dispute resolution before he moved into private practice handling complex civil, commercial, healthcare, and regulatory matters.

Lumpkin has represented a publicly traded cybersecurity company in trade secret and employee mobility litigation and companies facing Vermont Consumer Protection Act claims. He has tried a federal defamation case, defended a physician in a medical malpractice jury trial, and regularly represents healthcare professionals before licensing boards. He also represents corporations in complex commercial disputes and has handled matters in Vermont Superior Court, federal court, and the Vermont Supreme Court.

Kevin A.
