Kerry Brainard Verdi

Kerry Brainard Verdi is a founding partner of Verdi & Ogletree, PLLC in Washington, D.C. She represents corporations and individuals in complex litigation and investigations, including jury trials, administrative hearings, internal investigations, and arbitrations. Her practice focuses on white-collar criminal defense law, government investigations, securities litigation and enforcement, corporate internal investigations, congressional matters, and complex civil disputes.

Kerry earned her B.A. from Michigan State University, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She later received her J.D., cum laude, from American University, Washington College of Law. She is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, New York, and Virginia. Her federal admissions include the US Supreme Court and the US Courts of Appeals for the D.C. and Third Circuits.

Kerry has defended companies in grand jury proceedings and represented executives facing complex financial fraud allegations. She conducts board-directed internal investigations and advises on compliance and privilege issues. Her securities work includes SEC proceedings, FINRA arbitrations, and private litigation. Her civil litigation experience covers False Claims Act defense, ERISA disputes, defamation, business conflicts, and trade secret matters. She has also served as outside counsel to the U.S. House Committee on Ethics.
