Karla M. Campbell

Karla M. Campbell is Of Counsel at Stranch, Jennings & Garvey, PLLC, where she focuses on labor law, civil litigation, employment law, ERISA, and appellate practice. Known for her dedication to employee rights, Ms. Campbell brings a broad range of experience to her practice, representing both unions and individuals in complex legal matters.

Ms. Campbell earned her B.A. from the University of Virginia in 2002 with Highest Distinction. She received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2008, where she served as Article Selection Editor of the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal.

Before joining the firm, Ms. Campbell worked as a litigation attorney in Washington, D.C., and was selected as the first law clerk for the Honorable Jane Branstetter Stranch of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit. She also holds a certificate in Refugee and Humanitarian Emergencies and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ecuador for three years.

Throughout her legal career, Ms. Campbell has handled numerous important cases. She successfully argued in Hitchcock v. Cumberland University, securing claimants’ direct court access in certain ERISA cases. In 2018, she negotiated Tennessee’s first community benefits agreement related to the Nashville MLS stadium. More recently, in 2023, she played a key role in a case where the NLRB recognized joint employment between Google and a contractor, expanding labor rights for YouTube Music content workers.

Ms. Campbell is admitted to practice in Tennessee and Ohio. She is active in several professional organizations, including the American, Tennessee, and Nashville Bar Associations. She has also held board positions with the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee, the American Constitution Society (Nashville Chapter), and the Lawyers Association for Women.

Bilingual in English and Spanish, Karla M. Campbell is a strong legal advocate with a commitment to justice and workers’ rights. Her work continues to shape labor and employment law in meaningful ways across Tennessee and beyond.
