Kari Hartman

Kari Hartman is an associate at Hathaway & Kunz in Cheyenne whose practice focuses primarily on litigation. Her federal litigation work includes personal injury, construction, intellectual property, employment, business, and other commercial disputes. Her work includes trial and appellate advocacy, and she has substantive experience in the Wyoming Chancery Court. She also assists clients with transactional employment and corporate matters and development permitting in energy and natural resources matters.

Kari earned a J.D. with honor from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 2020, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif and participated in the Wyoming Law Review. She received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Wyoming in 2016, with a minor in Public Relations. Her academic training supports a practice that combines written advocacy, litigation strategy, regulatory analysis, and practical business counseling.

Kari previously served as a term law clerk to the Honorable Alan B. Johnson and worked as an associate at Crowley Fleck. Her current practice includes appeals, business disputes, Chancery Court litigation, complex commercial litigation, construction litigation, corporate litigation, creditors’ rights, employment law, and serious injury matters. She also represents clients before appellate courts and works on permitting and transactional issues that intersect with Wyoming business and natural resources development.

Kari Hartman was selected to Mountain States Rising Stars for Business Litigation in 2025 and serves in professional organizations including the Federal Bar Association’s Wyoming Chapter and the Defense Lawyers Association of Wyoming.
