Justin K. Cole

Justin K. Cole is the Managing Partner at Garlington, Lohn & Robinson, PLLP, where he concentrates on health care law, employment law, and civil litigation. He advises hospitals, independent practice groups, and individual practitioners on HIPAA compliance, breach analysis and reporting, EMTALA, Medicare and private insurance reimbursement, and Stark and Anti-Kickback contracting matters. He also works with hospitals and medical staff on bylaws, peer review, credentialing, and related medical staff issues effectively.

Justin earned his J.D., with honors, from the University of Montana School of Law and his B.S., with high honors, in Business Management from the University of Montana. During law school, he spent two years on the Trial Team, competing at regional and national levels. After graduation, he completed a two-year clerkship with the Honorable Carolyn S. Ostby, US Magistrate Judge, before entering private practice at Garlington, Lohn & Robinson.

Justin maintains a civil litigation practice defending individuals and entities in class actions, medical malpractice claims, insurance coverage and bad-faith disputes, personal injury defense, employment litigation, and business disputes. He represents health care providers, including physicians and nurses, before state licensing boards. This combination of regulatory counseling and litigation allows him to assist health care clients with compliance questions, licensing concerns, contractual issues, and disputes that may proceed into court.

Justin K. Cole is admitted to practice in Montana, the US District Court for the District of Montana, and the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Montana, and Montana Defense Trial Lawyers. His practice combines health care compliance, professional licensing representation, and defense litigation, allowing him to address both day-to-day regulatory concerns and complex contested matters for clients.
