Julia A. Barley

Julia A. Barley is an associate attorney at Burke Costanza & Carberry LLP in Merrillville, Indiana. She is a member of the firm’s Business and Litigation Practice Groups and represents individuals and businesses throughout Northwest Indiana. Barley’s practice includes appeals, business and commercial litigation, business services, estate planning, personal services, and real estate matters. Barley earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2025. She also received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a minor in Economics, from Indiana University in 2021, graduating with highest distinction. Her academic background in law, business, and economics supports her ability to evaluate legal problems, understand client objectives, and provide clear advice in transactional, litigation, and planning matters.

During law school, Barley developed substantial advocacy and writing experience. She served as Executive Symposium Live Editor for the Indiana International and Comparative Law Review and was named to the Order of the Barristers in the Robert H. Staton Moot Court Competition. She was also a regional finalist in the 2025 ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition and participated in the 2025 William C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, strengthening her courtroom, appellate, and arbitration skills.

As a native Hoosier and lifelong resident of Northwest Indiana, she brings a strong commitment to serving clients in the region.
