Joshua J. Leonard

Joshua J. After law school, he joined the Boise City Attorney’s Office, first handling infraction and misdemeanor prosecutions before moving to the civil section. His legal education was followed by progressively senior municipal roles, providing direct experience with city departments, local regulation, real estate, zoning, and government decision-making.

He became a Senior Deputy City Attorney and later Chief Deputy City Attorney, supervising the civil section’s attorneys and staff. Joshua handled major Boise real estate transactions, represented the city in significant development deals, addressed difficult zoning and land use issues, and managed the city’s litigation team. His earlier and later experience also includes work as a law clerk, legislative assistant, and private-practice attorney, giving him perspectives from government, courts, and client representation.
