Joshua A.R. Aldort

Joshua A.R. Aldort is Counsel at Pattishall McAuliffe with a broad practice in trademark and copyright prosecution, licensing, infringement, and online advertising law. He represents Fortune 500 companies, mid-size and smaller businesses, certification groups, charitable organizations, and individuals across several industries, including medical imaging, toys, food products, and telecommunications.

Josh earned his B.A. in Political Science from Purdue University in 1992. He earned his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1996, with a Certificate of International and Comparative Law. During college and law school, he studied in London and gained legal experience in the local courts.

Josh has experience helping clients protect brands, creative works, online rights, and secure testing materials. His work includes matters for non-profits, social media marketing and advertising clients, and certification organizations. He has handled trademark, copyright, domain name, and UDRP matters before courts, the TTAB, and the National Arbitration Forum.

Josh is a Chick Evans Memorial Scholarship Recipient, a full housing and undergraduate tuition scholarship awarded by the Western Golf Association to golf caddies with strong caddie records, excellent grades, and outstanding character. He has also served charities, including as Chairman of the Board of Leap Learning Systems.

Josh is admitted in Illinois. He is also admitted before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. His representative matters include trademark disputes, cancellation proceedings, opposition proceedings, domain name cases, and online brand enforcement work.

Joshua A.R. Aldort also serves as a Trustee for Canal Shores, a not-for-profit local community golf course, and Evanston History Center, a non-profit focused on teaching Evanston, Illinois, history. He brings practical legal skill, broad industry knowledge, and strong community service to his intellectual property practice.
