Josh Scarpello is a seasoned criminal defense attorney and partner at The Law Offices of Scarpello & LaTour, based in Philadelphia. He represents clients facing serious charges, including DUI/DWI, drug possession with intent to deliver, drug conspiracy, weapons offenses, sex crimes, assault, embezzlement, and homicide. With a reputation built on trial success and strategic defense, Mr. Scarpello handles cases throughout Pennsylvania—including Harrisburg, Johnstown, and the counties of Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery—as well as in New Jersey.
Mr. Scarpello earned his J.D. from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law. While at Temple, he was a member of the Environmental Law Journal and part of the National Trial Team that won the 1998 ATLA National Trial Competition.
Mr. Scarpello began his legal career as an intern for Judge Charles R. Weiner of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. Following graduation, he joined the District Attorney’s Office under Hon. Lynne Abraham, where he prosecuted thousands of cases between 1998 and 2003. In 2005, he opened his own criminal defense practice and later joined forces with Pierre LaTour in 2008 to expand client services across state and federal courts.
Licensed in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Mr. Scarpello is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He is a member of the Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Bar Associations and the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
