About

Josh Koskoff is a dedicated trial lawyer and partner at Koskoff Koskoff & Bieder PC, where he proudly represents the third generation of the Koskoff family. Known for compassion, creativity, and fearless advocacy, Josh focuses on fighting for people whose lives have been turned upside down by medical negligence, defamation, or civil rights abuses. He believes the law should work for everyone, not just the powerful, and approaches each case with a mission to make clients’ lives better.

Josh earned his undergraduate degree at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York, and then earned his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts. He was admitted to practice in Connecticut in 1994, the U.S. District Court District of Connecticut in 1995, and the Supreme Court of the United States in 2019.

Josh is a nationally recognized trial lawyer with a proven record of winning high-impact cases in Connecticut and across the country. He helped secure a landmark $73 million settlement for families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting against Remington Arms — the first time a gun manufacturer has paid victims of a mass shooting. He also won a $1.5 billion defamation verdict for Sandy Hook families against conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, the largest defamation verdict in U.S. history. Today, Josh continues to lead cutting-edge civil rights and institutional accountability cases, including a lawsuit against Harvard on behalf of a descendant of enslaved people and a major case against Yale University on behalf of dozens of women — a case that inspired the hit podcast “The Retrievals.”

Josh Koskoff’s work has earned recognition from Public Justice, the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, and the American College of Trial Lawyers. Whether taking on national corporations or standing with families after tragedy, Josh remains committed to justice and helping people rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
