About
Joseph P. Tunstall is a North Carolina litigator who represents injured people in personal injury, auto accident, Social Security disability, and workers’ compensation matters. His work has included many cases before juries, along with matters in state and federal courts. He helps clients confront insurers and opposing parties while pursuing compensation, benefits, and accountability after accidents, workplace injuries, and disability disputes.
Joseph earned his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law. He also earned his B.A. from the University of North Carolina. His education supports legal research, courtroom advocacy, evidence review, and case strategy. He uses that foundation to explain claims, prepare clients for trial, and guide injured people through decisions involving settlement, hearings, appeals, or jury proceedings in cases affecting health, income, recovery, and long-term family security needs plans.
Joseph has tried close to 100 jury trials to verdict and has handled cases at both the federal and state levels, including the Supreme Court of North Carolina. His career has focused on representing injured people, not corporations or insurance companies. He has also graduated from the Keenan Trial Institute, strengthening skills in trial presentation, case development, and advocacy for clients facing difficult disputes and contested insurance claims in court proceedings.
Joseph P. Tunstall is licensed in North Carolina and has served on the Board of Governors for the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. He also chaired the Auto Torts section, supporting work for people injured in automobile crashes. Through trial work, legal education, and statewide speaking, he helps injured clients pursue justice, understand their rights, and present strong cases before courts and juries with confidence and clarity when needed most.
