Joseph A. Ginarte is the founding partner and general counsel of Ginarte, Gonzalez & Winograd, LLP. Since beginning his legal career in 1982, he has built one of the region’s leading trial law firms, focusing on personal injury, workplace accidents, and construction site litigation. His working-class background instilled in him a passion for representing injured workers and their families.
Joseph earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Kean University, graduating summa cum laude, while working full-time as a forklift operator. He went on to obtain his Juris Doctor from Rutgers School of Law, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Rutgers Law Record and Notes Editor of the Rutgers Computer & Technology Law Journal. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, Washington, D.C., and multiple federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court.
Over his career, Joseph has secured numerous multimillion-dollar recoveries, including a $9.5 million settlement for a young construction worker rendered quadriplegic after a fall. He has handled significant cases involving defective equipment, trucking accidents, medical malpractice, and catastrophic workplace injuries. His results-driven approach has helped the firm recover billions on behalf of injured clients.
Joseph A. Ginarte’s leadership extends beyond the courtroom. He has served on the New Jersey Supreme Court’s Civil Practice Committee and as president of the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey. His achievements have earned him recognition in Best Lawyers in America, inclusion among the Top 100 Trial Lawyers, and multiple Lawyer of the Year honors.
