Jordan Wellinghoff

Jordan Wellinghoff is an associate attorney at Richard H. Sindel, Inc., in St. Louis, Missouri. His practice focuses on criminal defense for people facing misdemeanor charges and serious felonies. He also handles sex offender registry removal and expungement. Jordan earned his J.D. from St. Louis University School of Law in 2018, with a concentration in Criminal Litigation Skills. He received his B.A. from James Madison University in 2014. His law studies focused on the skills used in criminal cases and trials, including the demands of courtroom litigation. This training formed the basis for his early work representing people who needed a lawyer in court.

In 2018, Jordan began his legal career as a public defender in Southeastern Missouri. He counseled hundreds of clients and developed his trial skills through criminal defense work. This position gave him direct experience with the needs of people facing charges, many of whom depended on public defense. He worked with clients on their cases and gained firsthand experience in the courtroom.

Jordan later served the City of St. Louis as a prosecutor in the Special Victims Unit. There, he handled cases involving domestic assault, sex crimes, and child abuse. These were among the most challenging criminal matters in his career. His experience on the prosecution side now informs his defense work, helping him assess legal arguments and prepare for the issues clients may face in court.

Jordan Wellinghoff is admitted to practice in Missouri and serves as a special public defender in St. Louis and Southeastern Missouri. Through this work, he represents people who may not have enough resources to meet their legal needs. He believes access to justice should be a right, not a privilege. His approach centers on strong advocacy and personal guidance through the criminal legal process.
