John P. Strohm

John P. Strohm is a partner at Meitus Strohm LLP and a transactional entertainment and intellectual property attorney whose practice primarily serves music industry clients. He represents artists, songwriters, producers, music publishers, independent record labels, technology companies, and entrepreneurs. Before entering law, he spent a decade as a performing and recording musician. That experience gives him direct familiarity with the creative and commercial issues clients face when negotiating complex agreements, protecting rights, and developing long-term business relationships.

John earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Cumberland Law Review. He earned his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Alabama Birmingham and also attended Berklee College of Music. He is admitted to practice in Tennessee and belongs to the State Bar of Tennessee, supporting his transactional work with entertainment and business clients nationwide.

John began practicing law in 2004 as a corporate and financial services lawyer in Birmingham, Alabama. He developed a growing roster of music industry clients before joining Loeb & Loeb LLP’s Music Row office as Senior Counsel in 2011. From 2017 through 2022, he stepped away from legal practice to serve as President of Rounder Records, an independent label owned by Concord, gaining valuable executive experience inside the recording industry.

His current work focuses on transactions involving artists, songwriters, producers, publishers, independent labels, technology businesses, and entrepreneurs.
