John M. Daly is an experienced attorney whose career reflects a unique combination of military service, courtroom advocacy, and complex civil litigation. Since establishing a private practice in New York City, he has handled a broad range of legal matters, including medical malpractice litigation, appellate practice, immigration matters, commercial litigation, trusts and annuities, lien resolution, and infant compromise orders. His work is marked by detailed legal analysis, strong advocacy, and a commitment to achieving practical solutions in challenging cases.
John earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from Rider University in 1975. He later received a Juris Doctor from Creighton University School of Law in 1984, graduating summa cum laude. During law school, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Creighton Law Review, authored a law review article, and was inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu, the National Jesuit Honor Society. His academic accomplishments also included winning Creighton’s Appellate Moot Court Competition and receiving the Nebraska Association of Trial Attorneys’ Roscoe Pound Award for Appellate Advocacy.
John began his legal career after graduating from the Naval Justice School in 1984, where he finished first in his class and received an ABA commendation. As a Judge Advocate in the U.S. Marine Corps, he served as a prosecutor and later as a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina. In that role, he prosecuted felony cases in federal court and secured a first-degree murder conviction as lead prosecutor in a federal jury trial. He also handled numerous court-martial proceedings during his military service.
John M. Daly remains dedicated to providing thoughtful legal representation backed by decades of courtroom, appellate, and litigation experience across a wide range of practice areas. John expanded his litigation experience through positions with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and Deutsch, Klagsburn & Blasband, where he worked on securities litigation, corporate disputes, mergers and acquisitions matters, and intellectual property cases. He has also contributed to legal scholarship through published articles addressing Medicaid liens and birth trauma litigation.
