About

John Hyatt is the managing partner of Einwechter & Hyatt in Haleiwa, Hawaii. His civil practice focuses on legal issues affecting small and medium-sized businesses, including business planning, succession planning, property development, estate planning, and wealth preservation. He helps clients organize and protect business and personal assets, prepare for ownership transitions, and address legal and financial questions with practical guidance shaped by both legal and business experience.

John earned his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, graduating first in a class of nearly 400 students. He was valedictorian, graduated summa cum laude, and was elected to the Order of the Coif. He also earned an LL.M. from The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School and a B.S. from the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he received academic, athletic, military, and honor committee recognition.

John brings direct operational experience to his business law practice. He served as president of a new venture that obtained exclusive contracts with Ingram Micro, developed proprietary software, and grew to more than $20 million in annual revenue. The company expanded to approximately 30 employees, additional contractors, and a 32,000-square-foot facility in Southern California. This experience gives him practical insight into growth, contracts, leadership, financial planning, and the legal needs of developing companies.

John Hyatt is admitted to practice in California and Hawaii and belongs to both state bar associations. He also continues his public service as a member of the Hawaii National Guard. His combination of legal training, military service, and business leadership supports a disciplined and practical approach to client matters. He helps businesses, property owners, and individuals evaluate risks, plan for the future, and pursue long-term financial and organizational goals.
