John E. Johnson

John E. Johnson is a seasoned attorney and partner recognized for his extensive experience in Family Law. Since 1984, he has represented clients in all aspects of family law, including child custody, support, property division, and business valuation. His reputation is built on skillful advocacy, meticulous preparation, and compassion for families navigating difficult transitions.

Mr. Johnson earned his Bachelor’s degree with Highest Honors from California State University, Sacramento in 1981, and his Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1984. He is a Certified Family Law Specialist by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. His military service as a Naval Officer in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General Corps provided a strong foundation for his courtroom discipline and integrity.

Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Johnson has tried numerous jury and court cases, including over fifty family law trials and more than one thousand depositions. His appellate work includes the reported case In re Marriage of Davenport (2011). He is an AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rated attorney and a Northern California Super Lawyer every year since 2004. He is also a sought-after lecturer and panelist, presenting on advanced family law topics for the Sonoma County Bar Association and the State Bar of California.
