John C. Oberholtzer is a highly experienced attorney serving clients across Ohio and Florida in a broad range of legal matters. With a legal career spanning over five decades, he focuses his practice on civil and criminal litigation, probate and estate law, Social Security Disability claims, bankruptcy, real estate, employment law, construction disputes, and landlord-tenant issues.
A 1967 graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Law, John began practicing law the same year. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the College of Wooster and is a proud graduate of Medina High School. He is admitted to practice in both Ohio and Florida, as well as before the U.S. Supreme Court, multiple U.S. District Courts, the U.S. Tax Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
John brings extensive trial and appellate experience to each case, offering practical, strategic legal solutions across diverse practice areas. His background includes both private practice and public service, having served as a Medina County Commissioner from 1971 to 1978.
John is an active member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Florida Bar, the Medina County Bar Association, and the Medina County Estate Planning Council. He is also affiliated with the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives, reflecting his commitment to assisting individuals seeking disability benefits.
Beyond the courtroom, John has contributed significantly to his community through coaching and leadership, including serving as head coach for soccer programs at Medina High School and Baldwin Wallace College.
