Jessica R. Friedman

Jessica R. Friedman is a seasoned intellectual property attorney with nearly four decades of experience in copyright, trademark, licensing, publishing, and internet law. She has built a distinguished career representing publishers, content creators, and technology companies in complex intellectual property matters, from litigation to high-level transactional work. Jessica has successfully litigated landmark copyright and trademark infringement cases and has advised clients on entertainment, advertising, and digital media law.

Jessica earned her Juris Doctor from Yale Law School in 1984 after graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton University in 1981. Before transitioning into intellectual property law, she began her legal career as a commercial litigation associate at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson. Over the years, she has worked at prestigious firms, including Linden and Deutsch (later Deutsch Klagsbrun & Blasband) and Reboul, MacMurray, Hewitt, Maynard & Kristol, where she was the firm’s sole IP attorney. In 2003, she founded her practice to provide businesses and individuals with high-quality, personalized legal services.

Jessica has deeply shaped intellectual property law through her professional affiliations. She is an active member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, serving multiple terms on the Copyright and Literary Property Committee and the Trademark and Unfair Competition Committee. She has also been a member of the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Section, and the Copyright Society of the U.S.A.
