Jerrold L. Steigman

Jerrold L. Steigman is a versatile litigator representing individuals and companies in white-collar criminal matters, regulatory investigations, and complex civil and antitrust disputes. His practice includes defending clients in federal and state inquiries, multi-district litigation, enforcement actions, and high-stakes financial and fraud-related proceedings.

Mr. Steigman earned his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, graduating cum laude and serving as Executive Notes and Comments Editor for the Journal of Law & Policy. He holds dual bachelor’s degrees from Binghamton University, providing a strong academic foundation for his career in sophisticated criminal and civil litigation.

Mr. Steigman’s representative work includes defending clients in federal investigations involving pharmaceuticals, cryptocurrency, tax matters, government procurement, and health care. He also regularly advises subpoena recipients, witnesses, and businesses navigating federal and state enforcement actions, bankruptcy adversary proceedings, and civil forfeiture cases.

Before entering private practice, Mr. Steigman served more than eight years as a state prosecutor handling fraud, corruption, and public integrity matters. As an Assistant Attorney General in New York’s Public Integrity Bureau, he investigated and prosecuted government officials, earning the Louis J. Lefkowitz Memorial Award for outstanding performance and conducting long-term, complex investigations.

His earlier experience as an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan further strengthened his trial skills and knowledge of business and government corruption cases. Prior to his prosecutorial service, he practiced with Morvillo Abramowitz, gaining insight into federal defense strategy and complex white-collar litigation.

Jerrold L. Steigman is an active member of the New York Council of Defense Lawyers and the New York City Bar Association, where he serves on the Construction Law Committee. His broad investigative background and strategic litigation experience allow him to guide clients through challenging legal matters with precision, sound judgment, and strong advocacy.
