About
Jennifer Van Kirk is a partner at Peckerman, Klein & Van Kirk, LLP and has practiced exclusively in family law with the firm since 2002. Her work includes divorce and legal separation, child custody and placement, child support and maintenance, paternity, and family law appeals. She is an American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers trained and certified mediator and brings extensive family-law experience to disputes requiring negotiation, litigation, and structured resolution.
Jennifer earned a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1999, graduating magna cum laude with Honors in General Business and French. She earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2002 and is a member of the Order of the Coif. During law school, she served as a Note and Comment Editor for the Wisconsin Law Review and participated in the Consumer Law Litigation Clinic.
Jennifer has been a partner with her firm since 2009 and is admitted before all Wisconsin state courts. She writes and presents frequently on family law topics and handles matters ranging from divorce and custody disputes to support, paternity, appellate issues, and mediation. Her academic background in business adds useful context for family cases involving financial questions, while her mediation training supports negotiated solutions when clients seek alternatives to contested litigation.
