About
Jennifer S. Frank is a shareholder and attorney at Lynn, Jackson, Shultz & Lebrun, P.C. who focuses on all facets of employment law. She represents employees and employers in discrimination, harassment, disability, ADA, FMLA, and wage and hour claims. She also advises employers on compliance, handbooks, policies, privacy, non-compete agreements, hiring, discipline, and termination, and she conducts external workplace investigations for organizations across South Dakota and Minnesota.
Jennifer earned a B.A. in French, with a minor in Business Administration, from the University of Delaware in 1988 and a J.D., magna cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law in 1997. Before law school, she worked in human resources and benefits roles in Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. She later served as senior associate general counsel for a large healthcare system and as a partner in a Minnesota law firm, adding both in-house and private-practice perspective to her employment work.
Jennifer’s representative experience includes negotiating non-compete disputes, advising employers on complex workplace compliance issues, handling discrimination and retaliation claims, and guiding organizations through policy changes, layoffs, furloughs, leave issues, and other employment decisions. She has earned an Association of Workplace Investigators certificate and regularly trains organizations on discrimination, harassment, hiring, discipline, disability, ADA, and FMLA topics. Her work blends preventive counseling with litigation and investigations.
Jennifer S. Frank chairs the South Dakota State Bar’s Labor and Employment Law Committee and has held leadership roles with the Black Hills Society for Human Resource Management. She is admitted in South Dakota and Minnesota state and federal courts. Her combination of employment litigation, human resources experience, compliance counseling, and workplace investigations helps clients address sensitive personnel issues, reduce legal risk, and respond effectively when employment disputes or government requirements arise.
