Jeffrey S. Levin is a senior partner at Squire Patton Boggs with offices in New York and New Jersey. His practice focuses on federal, state, and local taxation, as well as estate planning, trusts and estates administration, charitable giving, and succession planning for closely held businesses.
Jeffrey earned an A.B., magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Lafayette College in 1975. He later received a J.D./M.B.A. from Northwestern University in 1979. He then completed an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University in 1982.
Jeffrey focuses on income, estate, and gift tax planning for both US and non-US clients. His work includes advising clients on the use of domestic and foreign trusts and developing strategies that support long-term estate and tax planning goals.
Jeffrey also advises closely held family businesses and family limited partnerships on tax and related business matters. As part of multigenerational estate planning, he helps families structure ownership and planning strategies that support continuity and financial stability.
Jeffrey regularly provides guidance on fiduciary income and estate tax planning, compliance, and administration. He also advises clients on the tax consequences of owning US real property and helps individuals understand state and local tax considerations.
Jeffrey is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey and appears before several federal courts, including the U.S. Tax Court and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. He is also admitted to multiple federal district courts.
