About
Jeffrey B. Bloom has built a distinguished career as one of New York’s leading medical malpractice and personal injury attorneys. For decades, he has advocated for victims of negligence, securing multi-million-dollar verdicts and settlements in cases involving misdiagnosed illnesses, surgical errors, construction accidents, auto crashes, and product liability matters.
Jeffrey earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Lehigh University in 1976, followed by a Juris Doctor from Hofstra University in 1979. Soon after, he was admitted to practice in New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts. His longstanding legal knowledge and courtroom skill have positioned him as a trusted figure within the bar and judiciary.
Jeffrey has obtained remarkable case results, including a $120 million jury verdict in a medical malpractice stroke case, one of the largest of its kind in Westchester County. He also served as lead counsel in the high-profile wrongful death case of Joan Rivers. Additional outcomes include multimillion-dollar settlements for cancer misdiagnoses, birth injuries, surgical errors, and legal malpractice claims. Each result reflects his commitment to ensuring accountability and fair compensation for his clients.
Jeffrey’s influence extends beyond the courtroom. As Co-Chair of the Medical Malpractice Committee and LAWPAC of New York, he played a central role in advancing “Lavern’s Law,” a reform that redefined the statute of limitations for cancer misdiagnosis cases in New York. He has also served as a lecturer for judges and lawyers across the state, covering topics such as women’s health issues, cancer misdiagnosis, and malpractice litigation.
Jeffrey B. Bloom continues to be recognized among the top attorneys in New York, with honors including repeated listings in Best Lawyers in America, New York Magazine’s Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers, and induction into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. His work reflects both dedication to clients and a lasting impact on the practice of medical malpractice law.
