Jeffery W. Davis

Jeffery W. Davis is a Partner at Smith Schafer Davis. He works with individuals and families on estate planning, probate matters, trusts, Medicaid planning, and long-term care issues. His practice also includes nonprofit governance, business succession planning, and legal guidance for property and financial matters throughout Nebraska communities.

Jeff earned an undergraduate degree in business from Loyola University Chicago in 2001. He later received his law degree from Loyola University Chicago in 2005. His academic background supports his work in tax planning, business matters, estate administration, nonprofit organizations, and legal planning strategies for clients across Nebraska today.

Jeff is admitted to practice law in Nebraska, Kansas, Connecticut, and New York. He is also admitted before the United States Tax Court. Since joining the firm in 2009, he has assisted clients with legal matters involving trusts, business structures, tax planning, property transfers, and estate administration services statewide.

In 2016, Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts appointed Jeff to the Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure Commission. The Commission oversees laws involving political ethics and campaign finance compliance. This public appointment reflects his professional judgment, legal knowledge, and commitment to responsible service within Nebraska’s legal and civic communities throughout the state.

Jeff is involved with several professional and community organizations in Nebraska. He is a member of the Real Estate, Probate, and Trusts Section of the Nebraska State Bar Association and previously served on its Legislation Committee. He has also supported nonprofit and civic organizations through leadership and board service.
