Jason M. Manning

Jason M. Manning is a partner at Levy Firestone Muse in Washington, D.C. and a former federal prosecutor. His practice includes white-collar criminal defense, internal investigations, and complex civil litigation. He represents companies, executives, nonprofit organizations, and individuals facing government scrutiny, regulatory disputes, and high-stakes litigation. His experience spans trial and appellate courts, federal enforcement matters, corporate investigations, and proceedings involving financial fraud, sanctions, anti-corruption laws, and other sensitive issues.

Manning earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center in 2007 as a Global Law Scholar. That same year, he received an M.S.F.S. from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. He earned his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1998. He later clerked for Judge Laura Taylor Swain of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, strengthening his foundation in federal litigation and judicial process.

Manning served as a Trial Attorney in the Fraud Section of the US Department of Justice’s Criminal Division, where he investigated and prosecuted financial fraud, money laundering, sanctions violations, and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act matters. He coordinated investigative teams involving the FBI, IRS, SEC, and other agencies and worked with foreign authorities. In private practice, he has handled internal investigations, CFTC litigation, congressional and criminal inquiries, appellate matters, compliance counseling, and disputes involving banks, health care companies, nonprofits, and financial firms.

Jason M. Manning received the Assistant Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service for his lead role in a fraud and foreign bribery prosecution. He has tried multiple cases to judgment and has experience resolving complex corporate matters through deferred prosecution agreements and other negotiated outcomes. His combination of prosecution, trial, appellate, and investigations experience supports practical representation when clients face parallel legal, regulatory, and reputational risks.
