Janet L. Gemmell earned her B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, graduating cum laude in under three years. She went on to receive her J.D. from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University. Her academic background reflects both discipline and focus, qualities that continue to define her legal practice. She has also completed advanced training required for board certification, demonstrating a high level of knowledge, skill, and proficiency in family law.

Janet began her legal career at the Law Offices of Timothy C. Morris before gaining experience in large-scale litigation with Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice. She later joined the Rosen Law Firm, where she further developed her family law practice and contributed legal writing and educational content. In 2007, she opened Cape Fear Family Law, building a firm focused on delivering efficient, results-driven representation through a flat-fee model that prioritizes outcomes over billable hours.
