About

Jamie Bordas is Managing Partner of Bordas & Bordas and works from the firm’s Wheeling office. His practice includes personal injury, insurance bad faith, wrongful death, trucking accidents, mass torts, auto collisions, workplace injuries, asbestos litigation, medical malpractice, and nursing home negligence. In addition to handling significant cases, he helps lead the firm’s operations across multiple jurisdictions and remains active in trial, appellate, and settlement work for clients facing serious losses.

Bordas earned a B.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1997, graduating magna cum laude. He received his J.D. from Notre Dame in 2000, graduating cum laude. His academic background in business and law supports a practice that often requires close analysis of damages, insurance issues, liability questions, and litigation strategy. That training also complements his responsibilities in managing a growing law practice while continuing to represent clients in complex disputes.

Bordas has handled substantial personal injury and insurance matters through verdicts and settlements. His reported results include mass tort settlements of $36.5 million and $18.5 million, single-plaintiff settlements of $19.5 million and $18 million, a $16.9 million premises liability verdict involving Walmart, and an insurance bad faith verdict exceeding $11.5 million. These matters reflect experience with high-value claims, contested liability, major corporate defendants, and cases requiring sustained preparation through trial or negotiated resolution.

Jamie Bordas has been recognized by Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, and Generation Next’s 40 Under 40. He has also served as president of the Wheeling YMCA Board. His combination of case work, firm leadership, and community service supports a practical approach to representing injured people and policyholders. He continues to guide serious injury and insurance disputes while helping clients understand their options, evaluate risk, and pursue remedies supported by the facts and law.
