James D. Wade

James D. Wade is the founder and tax attorney leading Beacon Tax Advocates in Maine. His current practice focuses on helping individuals and businesses address IRS tax problems, including audits, unpaid taxes, tax debt resolution, and related federal tax issues. He began his professional career in accounting and tax preparation before becoming an attorney, giving him a combined legal and financial perspective when clients face complicated tax obligations or enforcement concerns.

James earned his J.D. from the University of Maine School of Law and a B.S. in Public Accounting from Thomas College. He previously earned an associate degree in Business Administration from Casco Bay College and later became a Certified Public Accountant. During law school, he focused on tax and business law. This education and accounting background support a practice centered on tax analysis, compliance, negotiation, and resolution of IRS disputes.

James worked as a tax accountant and CPA before entering law, assisting individuals and small businesses with tax planning and preparation. After law school, he opened his own practice and handled tax and bankruptcy matters before increasingly focusing on IRS tax problems. His current work addresses tax audits, back taxes, tax debt settlements, filing and compliance issues, and other federal tax controversies where clients need coordinated legal and financial guidance.
