James Benjamin

James Benjamin, Esq. is a founding partner of Geller Benjamin, LLP, with offices in Boston, Canton, and Woburn, Massachusetts. Since 2011, he has delivered trusted legal counsel in family law and bankruptcy matters. James brings deep experience and dedication to representing individuals in divorce, custody, support, and asset division, as well as creditors’ and debtors’ rights cases.

James earned his B.A. from Hofstra University and his J.D. from New England School of Law.

James launched his legal career at the Law Offices of Jennifer A. Thorn, PC, focusing on divorce and family law. He then joined Roderick Linton Belfance, LLP—Ohio’s oldest law firm—where he handled both bankruptcy and domestic relations matters. Afterward, he founded the Law Offices of James Benjamin and later co-founded the boutique firm Geller Benjamin, LLP.

James’ current practice is focused on family law, including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, visitation, modification, and enforcement actions. He is also well-versed in bankruptcy and financial restructuring cases. As a Category F Guardian ad Litem (GAL), James is frequently appointed to investigate and make recommendations in family law matters in Probate and Family Court.

James Benjamin is admitted to the Bars of Massachusetts (2011), New York (2012), and Ohio (Inactive). He is also admitted to multiple federal courts, including the U.S. District and Bankruptcy Courts in Massachusetts and the Northern District of Ohio. He is an active member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Boston Bar Association, and the Massachusetts Association of Guardians ad Litem (MAGAL).
