James B. Trotter

James B. Trotter is an accomplished attorney specializing in corporate and real estate transactions, with additional estate planning and administration expertise. Jim was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2000. He earned a B.A. in Political Science, cum laude, from Furman University in 1997. He earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2000. He served as Notes Editor for the Georgia Law Review during law school.

Jim’s practice handles complex corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, private equity deals, shareholder agreements, and business organization matters. His real estate work includes acquisitions, developments, and tax-free exchanges. It also includes financing and selling properties, including build-for-rent communities and single-tenant retail facilities.

Jim has handled a wide range of notable transactions, including multimillion-dollar business sales, the development of large residential and warehouse projects, and complex asset divisions involving multiple entities and significant real estate holdings.
