James A. Welcome

James A. Welcome is the Founder and Lead Attorney of The Law Offices of James A. Welcome. He focuses his practice on personal injury, workers’ compensation, and immigration law. For more than 20 years, he has represented clients across Connecticut in trials, mediations, arbitrations, and appeals. By focusing on these areas, he provides strong, informed advocacy. He regularly stands before judges, government agencies, and insurance companies to protect his clients’ rights.

Mr. Welcome earned his J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law. He also holds an M.P.A. from the University of Connecticut, Graduate School, and a B.A. from the University of Connecticut. He was admitted to the Connecticut Bar and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for Connecticut and the First, Second, and Third Circuits. His education and training give him a solid legal foundation.

Mr. Welcome has helped injury victims recover compensation after serious accidents throughout his career. He guides clients through claims involving car crashes, workplace injuries, and other personal injury matters. In immigration cases, he assists individuals and families with complex legal issues, including removal defense and federal immigration processes. Because immigration law is federal, he can help clients nationwide with certain matters.

James A. Welcome has earned recognition for his work, including selection to Super Lawyers® from 2013 through 2025 and a “Top 40 Under 40” honor from The National Trial Lawyers. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association.
