Jacqueline S. Anderson

Jacqueline S. Anderson is an attorney at Nilles Lawyers in Fargo, North Dakota, where she focuses on employment and insurance law. She has represented the State of North Dakota as a Special Assistant Attorney General for Workforce Safety and Insurance for more than 20 years, handling administrative hearings and appeals. Anderson also advises employers on workplace issues and defends discrimination, wage and hour, unemployment, and other employment-related claims.

Anderson earned a B.A. summa cum laude from Moorhead State University in 1992 and a J.D. with distinction from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 1995. She was elected to the Order of the Coif. Before law school, she spent more than 10 years working as a legal secretary and legal assistant at a litigation firm in Moorhead, giving her substantial practical exposure to litigation before beginning her legal career.

Anderson has briefed and argued more than 50 cases before the North Dakota Supreme Court. Her experience also includes employment matters before the North Dakota Department of Labor and Job Service North Dakota, as well as jury trials in both state and federal court. Through this work, she helps public and private clients address workers’ compensation disputes, employment claims, administrative proceedings, appeals, and courtroom litigation involving complex factual and procedural issues.

Jacqueline S. Anderson is admitted in North Dakota and Minnesota, the federal district courts in both states, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. She has made numerous presentations on workers’ compensation and employment law and previously served on the State Bar Association of North Dakota’s Advisory Council to the Office of Administrative Hearings. Anderson combines extensive appellate, administrative, and employment litigation experience with practical guidance for employers and public-sector clients.
