About
Jacqueline K. Swanson, partner at Graves & Swanson LLC, delivers compassionate and comprehensive representation to individuals seeking justice through the civil legal system. Her practice focuses on personal injury, family law, and victims’ rights, with a commitment to client-centered advocacy in even the most complex and sensitive cases.
Jacqueline—known to clients and colleagues as Jackie—draws from a background in advocacy, having worked with sexual assault survivors before attending law school. That experience shaped her legal philosophy: to guide clients through trauma-informed legal pathways with empathy, skill, and resolve. Her legal work often centers on representing survivors of rape, domestic violence, childhood abuse, and other serious crimes.
Jacqueline earned her law degree after years of working in nonprofit victim advocacy. Her education, combined with her practical experience, allows her to provide thoughtful and informed legal support. She uses her legal acumen to empower clients as they seek restitution and healing through civil litigation.
Jacqueline has dedicated hundreds of pro bono hours to advancing legislative reform and survivor-focused public policy in Oregon and across the United States. She helped draft Oregon’s “Melissa’s Law,” which mandates the testing of rape kits, co-advocated for extending the statute of limitations for sex crimes, and contributed to the passage of the federal Sexual Assault Survivors’ Bill of Rights. Her advocacy has driven lasting legal reforms that strengthen protections for survivors of sexual assault and support their pursuit of justice.
Jacqueline K. Swanson believes every survivor should have the right to decide how they respond to trauma. Her practice reflects this belief by focusing on empowerment, accountability, and justice. Through legal representation and legislative advocacy, Jackie continues to be a powerful voice for victims seeking redress and renewal.
