Jacob M. Burg

Jacob M. Burg is a Shareholder at Burg Simpson Eldredge Hersh & Jardine, P.C., where he focuses his legal practice on personal injury litigation. He represents individuals who have suffered life-altering injuries and is especially active in cases involving spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries. Jacob is known for his commitment to securing justice for his clients and for his leadership in Colorado’s legal and medical support communities.

Jacob earned his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2014 and holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Michigan, Class of 2011.

Jacob began his legal journey interning with Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper’s Office of Legal Counsel. Before joining Burg Simpson Eldredge Hersh & Jardine, P.C., he also gained political experience working for U.S. Senator Mark Udall and the 2008 Democratic National Convention Host Committee. Since becoming a licensed attorney in Colorado in 2014, Jacob has handled complex personal injury cases with a focus on advocacy for the seriously injured.

Jacob has received numerous honors, including recognition by Best Lawyers® “Ones to Watch” (2021–2025), Colorado Super Lawyers® Rising Stars (2021–2025), and 5280 Magazine’s Top Lawyers for 2025. He was also named an “Up and Coming Lawyer” by Law Week Colorado in 2018 and included in the Top 40 Under 40 list by the National Trial Lawyers.

In addition to his legal work, Jacob M. Burg is deeply committed to the community. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Brain Injury Association of Colorado and volunteers with Craig Hospital’s PUSH Gala Planning Committee, supporting world-class rehabilitation for brain and spinal cord injury patients. He also contributes to the Colorado Bar Association Legal Fee Arbitration Committee and is a member of both the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice. Jacob combines legal excellence with dedicated community service, standing out as a passionate advocate for personal injury victims across Colorado.
