J. Will Varin

J. Will Varin is an experienced litigator, trial lawyer, and co-founder of Varin Thomas LLC in Boise. His practice focuses on complex civil litigation, with matters ranging from health care and tort litigation to contractual disagreements, business disputes, and other personal conflicts. He represents clients in Idaho state and federal courts, including appeals to the Idaho Supreme Court, and also advocates in mediation and arbitration proceedings.

Will earned his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2004, where he served as Notes and Comments Editor of the West-Northwest Journal of Environmental Law. He received a B.S. from George Fox University in 2001, graduating summa cum laude and earning recognition as the Outstanding Business & Economic Major. He also completed a Certificate in Conflict Management, a background well suited to litigation and dispute resolution.

His representative work includes serving as outside litigation counsel for Trinity Health and Saint Alphonsus Health System, trying a federal minority-shareholder dispute, and representing a physician and clinic through trial and an Idaho Supreme Court appeal in a wrongful death action. Will has also represented health care professionals in medical negligence matters, advised providers on patient privacy and records requests, handled Board of Medicine proceedings, and represented businesses in shareholder and derivative-action disputes.

J. Will Varin is admitted in Idaho and has received professional recognition including Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent peer review status and Mountain States Super Lawyers Rising Star selections in 2012 and 2013.
