Stuart earned a J.D. from the University of Montana with honors in 2006, where he developed a strong legal foundation and analytical skills. His academic training prepared him to navigate complex legal issues, equipping him with the knowledge and discipline required for high-level litigation and appellate work.

Stuart has built his legal career representing clients in civil litigation, appeals, and board-related matters. His work involves guiding clients through disputes in courts and administrative settings, ensuring that each case is handled with precision, careful preparation, and a focus on achieving effective outcomes.

Stuart previously served in the Montana Attorney General’s Office, where he worked under four Attorneys General. During that time, he handled significant litigation and appellate responsibilities, including serving as Chief of the Civil Services Bureau, representing the State of Montana in complex state and federal cases.

Stuart’s legal experience also includes a judicial clerkship with W. William Leaphart on the Montana Supreme Court. This role provided valuable insight into judicial reasoning and appellate decision-making, strengthening his ability to craft persuasive legal arguments and effectively represent clients on appeal.

Stuart is admitted to practice in Montana and New York, as well as in multiple federal courts, including the U.S. District Court for the District of Montana and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. His broad admissions allow him to serve clients across jurisdictions with confidence.
