Ian Gillespie

Ian Gillespie is a litigation and trial Attorney at The Advocates, where he manages the firm’s Montana litigation matters with diligence. His practice focuses on personal injury claims involving car, bicycle, motorcycle, and semi-truck accidents, as well as slip-and-fall and pedestrian accidents, with an emphasis on preparation and client-centered advocacy.

Ian earned his J.D. from Boston College Law School in 2018 and his B.A. from St. Edward’s University in 2011. His education gave him a strong foundation in legal research, written advocacy, courtroom procedure, and case strategy, supporting his later work in complex civil litigation and injury claims statewide. Before joining The Advocates, he worked as an insurance defense attorney handling personal injury and construction cases throughout Montana and surrounding jurisdictions. That experience helps him anticipate insurer strategies and build stronger injury claims.

Ian’s earlier career also included civil litigation work in Boston, where he handled complex matters requiring detailed analysis, careful investigation, and persuasive advocacy in demanding legal settings. He later served as an attorney at Beal Law Firm, PLLC, and as an associate at Aceto, Bonner & Cole PC, where he developed broad litigation experience. At The Advocates, he uses his defense-side experience to represent people harmed by negligence. He helps clients evaluate options, manage insurance issues, and pursue compensation after serious accident injuries.
