Harry B. Crow, Jr. has built a long-standing legal career defined by broad courtroom experience and public service. Since returning to private practice in Monroe in 1975, he has represented individuals across a wide range of legal matters, offering steady guidance, clear advocacy, and practical solutions rooted in decades of hands-on legal work.
Harry began his academic path at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where he earned a B.A. in 1966, developing a strong foundation in analytical thinking and public service. He continued his legal studies at the University of North Carolina School of Law, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, completing his J.D. in 1969.
Harry entered public service immediately after law school, serving from 1969 until 1973 as a Captain in the U.S. Army JAG Corp. During this time, he worked with the U.S. Army Judiciary in Washington, D.C., completed advanced language training in Monterey, California, and served in Vietnam in multiple advisory and instructional roles.
Harry’s international service continued from 1973 until 1975 as a legal advisor with the U.S. Agency for International Development, then part of the U.S. Department of State. Stationed in Vietnam, he advised on legal matters while contributing to legal education and institutional development within the Vietnamese justice system.
Harry’s private practice experience spans nearly every type of civil and criminal matter. He has tried cases ranging from small civil disputes to complex medical malpractice claims, as well as criminal matters from simple assault to capital murder, appearing before juries, judges, and administrative agencies alike.
Harry has also represented clients before the Social Security Administration, the N.C. Industrial Commission, and the N.C. Employment Commission. His legal work includes probate matters, real estate transactions, and business dealings, allowing him to guide clients through both disputes and long-term planning needs.
Harry B. Crow, Jr., remains actively involved in public service and the legal community, serving as the North Carolina state bar councilor for district 20B. His career reflects a consistent commitment to fairness, public trust, and dependable legal representation grounded in real-world experience.
