Hans G. Huessy

Hans G. Huessy is a Member of MSK Attorneys in Burlington, Vermont. Hans earned his J.D. and M.S.L. Environmental Law from Vermont Law School in 1991, graduating summa cum laude. He received his B.A. from the University of Vermont in 1982, also summa cum laude. His environmental and legal training supports work involving land development, energy facilities, and regulatory questions. Before becoming an attorney, he was an entrepreneur and small business owner.

Hans has represented condominium associations in construction litigation and property tax appeals, including a construction matter that resulted in a $7.6 million settlement. His experience also includes utility power purchase disputes and environmental insurance litigation. He has assisted with the siting, permitting, and purchase of solar, wind, and hydro facilities, as well as legal matters involving organizations that construct and maintain Vermont recreational trails.

Hans G. Huessy brings prior in-house and law firm experience to his practice. Hans served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for the Home Service Store and as Senior Corporate Counsel for Central Vermont Public Service Corporation. Hans serves as Director and Treasurer of Vermont Legal Aid and Vermont Law Line, and Vice President of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail board.
