About
Halmon L. Banks, III is the founder of Banks Law in Philadelphia and has practiced extensively in Pennsylvania workers’ compensation law since 1985. He represents injured workers in claims involving wage-loss and medical benefits and regularly appears before Pennsylvania workers’ compensation judges and the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board. He is a Certified Workers’ Compensation Specialist through the Pennsylvania Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Law Section, as authorized by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, reflecting a long-standing concentration in this area of practice.
Halmon earned a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law in 1985 and a B.A. from Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 1982. His legal education was followed by decades of work focused on Pennsylvania workers’ compensation. That background supports his handling of claims involving medical evidence, disability, wage loss, benefit entitlement, hearings, and appeals. His firm also works in related areas that include Social Security Disability, long-term disability, and veterans’ benefits for clients facing serious health or work limitations.
Halmon has devoted much of his career to workers’ compensation litigation and professional leadership in the field. He has served as Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Law Section and has participated in program planning and educational presentations for practitioners. His regular appearance before workers’ compensation judges and appellate bodies gives him experience with the procedural and evidentiary issues that determine whether injured workers receive or continue receiving benefits under Pennsylvania law.
Halmon L. Banks, III received the Martha J. Hampton Award from the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Section in 2008. He is admitted in Pennsylvania and before the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and has participated in state, local, and trial-lawyer organizations. His practice combines specialized workers’ compensation knowledge, decades of hearings and appeals, professional leadership, and disability-related advocacy for people whose injuries or medical conditions affect their ability to work.
