Guy J. Vitetta

Guy J. Vitetta works with The Peck Law Firm, L.L.C. as a Trial Strategy Advisor and maintains his own practice at Vitetta Law Group, LLC. He has practiced law since 1991 and has devoted his work to Family Court since 2002. His family law experience includes divorce, custody, child support, equitable division, alimony, adoption, contempt, enforcement, modification, mediation, collaborative law, arbitration, and litigation.

Vitetta earned a J.D. from Capital University Law School in 1991 and a B.A. in History from Kenyon College. He spent eleven years as a Public Defender in Columbus, Ohio, and Charleston County before concentrating on Family Court work. His criminal trial background developed courtroom judgment and advocacy skills that later carried into his family law practice and trial strategy work.

Vitetta has worked through mediation, collaborative law, arbitration, cooperative divorce, negotiated settlement, and contested litigation. He was among the early South Carolina lawyers trained in collaborative law and is a founding member and past president of the South Carolina Academy of Collaborative Professionals. He co-founded the Lowcountry Mediation Center and is a Certified South Carolina Family Court Mediator.

Guy J. Vitetta is admitted in South Carolina and has held an AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell since 2005. At his legal practice, he advises other attorneys on trial strategy, preparation, legal analysis, and professional judgment rather than representing the firm’s clients directly. His current role draws on more than three decades of courtroom and Family Court experience.
