Greg J. Theo

Greg J. Theo is a partner at Overturf McGath & Hull P.C. in Denver, Colorado. His practice focuses on personal injury defense and construction defect defense. He represents parties responding to civil claims and uses his experience in insurance defense to address contested liability issues. Having worked in both plaintiff-side personal injury matters and defense litigation, he brings knowledge of the arguments and evidence typically raised on opposing sides of a dispute.

Greg earned a B.A. in Psychology and Pre-Law from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg in 1985 and a J.D. from the University of Witwatersrand School of Law in 1990. He later received an M.B.A. from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1997. His combined legal and business education supports his approach to litigation strategy, the economic implications of claims, and communicating with clients confronting disputed losses.

Greg began his legal practice in South Africa, where he clerked for Judge Michael S. Stegmann of the Johannesburg High Court. He represented trade unions and nongovernmental organizations early in his career and later worked in major insurance defense practices. He established his own Johannesburg firm in 1999 and moved to the United States in 2007. In Colorado, he practiced with plaintiff personal injury firms before concentrating on defense work.
