Gerard Glass is a seasoned estate planning lawyer with over 38 years of legal experience serving clients throughout Suffolk County and beyond. As managing partner of Gerard Glass & Associates, he advises individuals and businesses on estate planning, probate, and trust administration, as well as a wide range of legal services, including real estate, business transactions, zoning, and civil litigation.
Mr. Glass earned both his B.A. (1981) and J.D. (1984) from St. John’s University in Queens, New York. After graduating from law school, he began his career at the Suffolk County Attorney’s Office and quickly transitioned into public service. At age 26, he was elected to the Suffolk County Legislature, where he served two terms and served as Majority Leader. His leadership and legal acumen shaped key legislative initiatives, including co-authoring the 1987 Water Protection Act.
In private practice, Mr. Glass became managing partner of Glass, Lazio & Glass before co-founding Gerard Glass & Associates in 2018. He has since represented thousands of clients in residential and commercial real estate deals, estate planning matters, landlord/tenant disputes, and municipal law. He serves as general counsel to the Village of Lindenhurst and has also represented the Villages of Port Jefferson, Babylon, Amityville, and Mastic Beach.
Gerard Glass is admitted to practice in all New York State Courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He holds a “BV Distinguished” peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has been named to Super Lawyers from 2019 to 2023. His combination of public service, deep legal knowledge, and dedication to client advocacy has made him one of Long Island’s most trusted legal professionals.
