Gerald Burns is the founder of Burns Law Office, P.L.C., established in 2001. He is a respected lawyer in Arizona’s immigration legal community. Mr. Burns believes every person deserves respect and skilled legal help, especially immigrants and their families. He has over 15 years of experience in immigration law and nationality law. His work includes representing clients before the Citizenship and Immigration Service (CIS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the U.S. Immigration Courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), and the 9th and 10th Circuits. He has also worked with many U.S. Consulates worldwide.
Gerald E. Burns earned his J.D. from Hamline University School of Law in 1998. This education laid the foundation for his deep knowledge of immigration law and his ability to serve clients effectively.
Mr. Burns has actively contributed to the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) throughout his career. He served three terms as Chair of the Arizona AILA Chapter and was Chair of the AILA National Family Immigration Committee. He has spoken at AILA National Conferences on complex immigration cases and lawful permanent residence. Mr. Burns also testified before the Arizona Senate and House of Representatives and appeared in local and national media. He has discussed important immigration issues, including the legal challenges posed by Arizona’s SB 1070 and SB 1062.
