George R. Willy is the founding and principal attorney of Willy, Nanayakkara & Associates, where he has practiced immigration law for more than 35 years. He has built a respected international legal practice with offices in Houston, Atlanta, Toronto, and Mumbai, assisting clients in all areas of immigration, including family-based, employment, investment, and litigation matters. His experience and leadership have made him a trusted authority in immigration law.
Mr. Willy earned his B.A., summa cum laude, in Political Science and Philosophy from McMaster University in Canada and his J.D. from South Texas College of Law. Admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, multiple U.S. Courts of Appeals, and the State Bar of Texas, he combines deep legal knowledge with a global perspective. He is also a Certified Mediator through the A.A. White Dispute Resolution Institute.
Throughout his career, Mr. Willy has played a vital role in shaping immigration policy and promoting international relations. He has participated in White House briefings, chaired Houston’s International Trade and Development Council for South Asia, and served as President of the Asian American Bar Association. His professional affiliations include membership in the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Texas Bar Foundation.
Beyond his legal practice, George R. Willy has dedicated his time to civic and charitable initiatives, including serving on the boards of the Asian American Justice Center, DAYA, and the Houston Zoo.
